Getting Rid of those Annoying Creatures with Head Lice Solutions
If your children
have a head lice infestation, there is no real reason to fret. Millions of children
suffer from head lice and that too in developed countries. Doctors explain that
lice do not cause any real illness and the worst they can do is to cause severe
itchiness which is not always the case.
It is more common
for children to get lice rather than grownups. There being a number of reasons
for this. Lice are not great jumpers and these transfer to other humans through
contact. That is mainly kids that have physical contact especially with the
head while playing at school, and in playgrounds that are suitable for a louse
transferring. You should consider visiting a salon, offering head lice
solutions.
Generally
speaking children like to hug and play with their pets. Dogs and cats often
have lice dwelling in them, and that is one of the main reason kids have more
head lice as compared to adults. Lice can be removed by hand and a comb. The
removed lice and nits (eggs) and nymphs(baby lice), because of their tiny size,
it is not always possible to kill all the lice, nymphs, and nits by crushing,
as quite a few survive. Lice and nits can be placed in a mug of water, and then
flushed into a W/C or at some far away disposal area. The bed sheets, sofas and
carpets should be thoroughly washed so as to remove the lice and nits. All pets
in the house should also be cleared of these creatures. Medicated liquid
solutions for animals is a good option as animals have large hairy areas and
removing lice and nits on an almost daily bases would be an arduous task.
The life cycle of
a louse (singular for lice) is about 5 weeks after hatching. The eggs are
called nits and these hatch after about 1 week into baby nymphs. These are
about the size of a pinhead. After another week or so they become adult lice
and live in the head for about a month, sucking on blood. Without blood, lice
cannot survive for more than two days. The color of the lice varies from
yellowish grey to grey and slightly reddish maroon. An adult louse is about the
size of a mustard seed and gets much larger upon sucking and storing blood. The
egg nits are attached to the scalp while the adult louse is suspended upside
down on a single hair, the distance is far enough for the mouth of the louse
being close enough to suck on blood from the scalp.
One would not
like to give very young babies medicated lice shampoo. The chemicals in the
shampoo may be harmful to the skin of your baby. As for head lice solutions with completely natural substances like oil
available that are effective against lice removal from babies. Some of the
natural oils effective in removing lice being, tea tree, Eucalyptus, lavender,
Rosemary, and cinnamon oil and a lot more. Vinegar is also a very effective
natural substance used for lice removal.
